As Stranger Things <\/a>nears its series finale, fans all seem to be asking the same question.<\/p>\n *Spoilers for \u2018Stranger Things\u2019 season 5 follow*<\/strong><\/p>\n After the second part of the hit Netflix series\u2019 final season<\/a> dropped Christmas Day ahead of the highly anticipated New Year\u2019s Eve finale<\/a>, viewers have taken to X to voice their disappointment over the lack of major developments<\/a>, with many wondering why none of the major characters were killed off.<\/p>\n \u201cNot like i desire anyone to die but why is no one dying in Stranger Things,\u201d one fan wrote while another agreed, \u201cnot one single main character has died since season 1. where’s the stakes?!?!?!?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIm so scared for the last episode of Stranger Things. NO ONE HAS DIED YET WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN,\u201d someone else wondered.<\/p>\n \u201cStranger things 5 volume 2 was a massacre\u2026 not that anyone died because god forbid there\u2019s any stakes in this show it was just written horribly,\u201d another lamented while another said, \u201cVol 2 of Stranger Things S5 was decent but I\u2019m starting to really dislike the constant expository dialogue. Also, no one died which was especially disappointing. The finale better be great because if it isn\u2019t and no major character bites the dust, I will lose it.\u201d<\/p>\n The show\u2019s creators Matt and Ross Duffer<\/a> said they\u2019re not trying to finish the series with a massive overhaul of characters the way other shows have.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not Game of Thrones. We\u2019re not in Westeros. I love Game of Thrones, but it\u2019s just a very different type of show than that,\u201d Matt told<\/a> The Hollywood Reporter. <\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s not going to be a Red Wedding situation. I think some things happen in the finale that are very surprising, but we\u2019re not trying to shock or upset anyone,\u201d he continued. \u201cI hope by the time people get to the end of the finale that it just feels like there\u2019s something inevitable about what happens, and that it doesn\u2019t feel painful but feels satisfying.\u201d<\/p>\n The brothers also addressed the rumors that Steve (Joe Keery<\/a>) is going to die during the finale after a bit of dialogue released in the season\u2019s trailer indicated that possibility.<\/p>\n \u201cAs for Steve\u2019s fate. I don\u2019t know. I can\u2019t say. It would be the next logical step. He keeps getting beaten up more and more.
