An arrest has been made after a man was allegedly stabbed to death in a small, remote town on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n
Police arrested the 39-year-old man from Yuendumu, central Northern Territory<\/a>, about 1pm on Saturday \u2014 a day after investigations into the death of a 35-year-old man.<\/p>\n Emergency services received reports of an aggravated assault in Laramba, about two hours drive east of Yuendumu, about 4.40am on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow<\/a><\/p>\n The 35-year-old was allegedly stabbed in the chest and raced to a nearby medical clinic for treatment, where he tragically died.<\/p>\n Police officers<\/a> from the Ti Tree, Yuendumu and Alice Springs arrived at the scene shortly after to launch investigations.<\/p>\n Inquiries into the the \u201calleged offender and the circumstances\u201d surrounding the death remain ongoing and have been joined by detectives from the \u201cMajor Crime Unit and Southern Investigations\u201d.<\/p>\n Charges<\/a> are yet to be laid.<\/p>\n Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Drug haul labelled as \u2018tea\u2019 hidden in luggage<\/p>\n 1 min read<\/p>\n
