{"id":476412,"date":"2025-12-28T05:05:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-28T05:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/476412\/"},"modified":"2025-12-28T05:05:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-28T05:05:13","slug":"were-praying-for-cami-to-return-back-home-community-gathers-in-prayer-as-search-continues-for-missing-bexar-county-teen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/476412\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;We&#8217;re praying for Cami to return back home&#8217; | Community gathers in prayer as search continues for missing Bexar County teen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cRosario, I feel you as a parent, and we\u2019re praying for Cami to return back home with her loved ones.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Family, friends and community members packed a vigil Saturday night to show support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kens5.com\/article\/news\/local\/search-underway-clear-alert-missing-san-antonio-teen-texas-family\/273-ed796e1a-5e0a-4cc1-9c73-cbb2ca1b870a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Camila Mendoza Olmos, who has been missing since Christmas Eve.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The standing-room-only vigil was filled with music, prayers and messages of hope that Mendoza will return home safely. Neighbors and church members gathered to comfort the family and keep attention on the ongoing search.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt that there was a lot of peace, which that\u2019s what God brings us \u2014 peace in times like these,\u201d said Yvonne Rodriguez, a community member who attended the vigil.<\/p>\n<p>Rodriguez said she felt compelled to come because she has a daughter the same age as Mendoza and wanted to support Mendoza\u2019s mother, Rosario.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRosario, I feel you as a parent, and we\u2019re praying for Cami to return back home with her loved ones,\u201d Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n<p>Mendoza was last seen just before 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve. Surveillance video from a neighbor shows her standing next to her car outside her home on Caspian Spring, but the footage does not show what happened afterward. Her car was left at her home.<\/p>\n<p>Mendoza\u2019s mother told authorities she believed her daughter had gone for a walk. When she did not return, the family contacted law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, multiple searches have been conducted in the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday morning, more than 100 volunteers joined deputies to search nearby neighborhoods and open areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s being done very methodically, marking off area by area,\u201d said Lori Wittmeyer with Search &amp; Support San Antonio. \u201cWe had drones out there today. I know the Bexar County Sheriff\u2019s Office has utilized search dogs. Every technology we have is being used to help bring Cami home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s vigil was organized by Oak Hills Church, who said they wanted to unite the community in prayer for Olmos\u2019 safety and provide support to her family.<\/p>\n<p>Mendoza\u2019s father, Alfonso Mendoza, said the disappearance has been devastating but expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA little peace, comfort, healing,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m a man of faith, and all these people out here too.
