{"id":47720,"date":"2025-07-08T04:02:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T04:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/47720\/"},"modified":"2025-07-08T04:02:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T04:02:10","slug":"vehicle-testing-site-for-toyota-gets-50-million-renovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/47720\/","title":{"rendered":"Vehicle testing site for Toyota gets $50 million renovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 Toyota is set to expand its massive vehicle testing site around 50 miles northwest of Phoenix in the town of Wittman.<\/p>\n<p>The site, which is around 11,650 acres, is where the carmaker has tested dozens of Toyota and Lexus vehicles for the North American market since 1993.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s changing at the Toyota vehicle testing site northwest of Phoenix?<\/p>\n<p>Toyota recently kicked off construction of several upgrades, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A new 5.5-mile oval track.<\/li>\n<li>New ride and handling surfaces.<\/li>\n<li>An off-road park.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stefan Young, the vice president of research and development for Toyota Motor North America, said the company is investing over $50 million in the construction project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new investment in Arizona signals the facility\u2019s importance to Toyota,\u201d Young said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/toyota-affirms-commitment-to-arizona-proving-grounds-with-new-investment-302496304.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a company announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The project will also pave the way for new amenities for the testing and development of new vehicle and automotive technology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSite updates make it more attractive as an ideal place for companies to test new vehicle capabilities, including by Toyota for our own North American-developed vehicle line-up, thanks to the new and expanded development capabilities,\u201d Young said.<\/p>\n<p>We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
