One of Texas’s most iconic symbols could soon be remembered in a museum in the Fort Worth Stockyards.<\/p>\n

FORT WORTH, Texas \u2014 A new museum may be coming to the Fort Worth Stockyards,\u00a0the Fort Worth Star-Telegram recently reported. <\/a><\/p>\n

Amid an ongoing $360 million expansion<\/a> of the Fort Worth Stockyards, a new museum celebrating one of Texas’ most iconic symbols could be opening in the historic district, filings indicate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to reporting from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a Dec. 23 filing seeks to complete a drainage study at 101 Stockyards St., which currently houses a statue of several longhorn cows with a sign dedicated to the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The applicant for the drainage study is Clay Cristy of Claymoore Engineering.<\/p>\n

The lot is located across from the longtime Honky Tonk, Billy Bob’s Texas. A sign on the lot teases a Texas Longhorn Breeders of America Museum, coming in 2026, plus a rendering of the future museum.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Records accessed by the Star-Telegram show the land is owned by Tom Buxton, a Fort Worth businessman.\u00a0<\/p>\n
