NEW YORK (WABC) — Today marks another of the season’s biggest travel days as folks head home after the holidays.<\/p>\n

The good news is that today we’re dealing with rain instead of snow.<\/a><\/p>\n

The flight board isn’t currently showing delays or cancellations — but over the weekend, it was a different story<\/p>\n

On Friday into Saturday morning we had snow that impacted our local airports, blanketing runways.<\/p>\n

Newark, JFK and LaGuardia airports posted on social media, warning passengers about the weather and possible delays.<\/p>\n

More than 1,900 flights were canceled nationally over the weekend, but at our three local major airports we saw hundreds of flights canceled Friday and Saturday<\/p>\n

Around 4 inches of snow fell in New York City by Saturday, and state of emergency announcements were in place for New Jersey and some areas of New York.<\/p>\n

We can expect more busy travel days ahead as people travel to their New Year’s destinations and back.<\/p>\n
