The A train will be running express until 2:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Day (Jan.1 )<br class=\" \"\/>Subways will operate on a Sunday schedule.<\/p>\n<p>NYC Buses<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Eve (Dec. 31)<br class=\" \"\/>Routes in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan and some bus routes in Queens are operating on a reduced weekday schedule, while other routes in Queens are operating on a regular weekday schedule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">B100, B103, BM1 through BM5, and all BXM routes will operate on a regular weekday schedule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Buses on Staten Island will operate on a weekday school closed schedule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Bus routes in and around Midtown are subject to detours around road closures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Day (Jan.1 )<br class=\" \"\/>Buses in all five boroughs will operate on a Sunday schedule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \"><strong class=\"vtkaO \">Access-A-Ride<\/strong><br class=\" \"\/>Paratransit will operate full 24\/7 service on New Year&#8217;s Eve and New Year&#8217;s Day. When reserving trips, customers should be aware of potential delays due to holiday traffic and the need for alternate pickup or drop-off locations due to the New Year&#8217;s Eve street closures in the Times Square area.<\/p>\n<p>Long Island Rail Road<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Eve (Dec. 31)<br class=\" \"\/>On Wednesday, Dec. 31, there will be a total of 11 additional LIRR trains on the Babylon, Montauk, Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Port Washington branches to Grand Central Madison or Penn Station beginning in the early evening to accommodate riders heading into the city for New Year&#8217;s Eve celebrations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Day (Jan.1 )<br class=\" \"\/>All LIRR trains will operate on a Sunday schedule. There will be a total of 12 additional trains beginning in the early overnight hours to accommodate riders heading back to Long Island from Penn Station or Grand Central Madison.<\/p>\n<p>Metro-North Railroad<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Week<br class=\" \"\/>On Monday-Tuesday, Dec. 29-30, and Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, Metro-North will operate on a Friday schedule on the three East of Hudson lines, with extra mid-day and mid-afternoon service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Eve (Dec. 31)<br class=\" \"\/>Metro-North will operate a special weekday schedule with extra late-evening and post-midnight service on New Year&#8217;s Eve and into the morning hours of New Year&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Day (Jan.1 )<br class=\" \"\/>Metro-North will operate hourly service on the Hudson and Harlem Lines, with extra trains on the New Haven Line, and regular weekend service on the Wassaic, New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury branches.<\/p>\n<p>Bridges and Tunnels<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">New Year&#8217;s Eve Week<br class=\" \"\/>Temporary daytime road closures at all MTA Bridges and Tunnels will end at 1:00pm Wednesday, Dec. 31 through Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. On Friday, Jan. 2, roadwork may resume and lane closures may be implemented in the off-peak direction during the morning rush hour period as traffic volumes and regional conditions permit.<\/p>\n<p>Ways to Stay Informed<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">mta.info &#8211; The definitive source for real-time arrival information and service change information for each line or route in the MTA system.
