WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — The boil water notice in Wrightwood was lifted Sunday as crews continue to assess the damage left behind by the Christmas week storm.<\/p>\n

According to the Golden State Water Company<\/a>, water from Wrightwood’s water system has been deemed safe to drink.<\/p>\n

“Water quality tests conducted by the state’s Division of Drinking Water confirm that Wrightwood’s water meets state safe drinking water standards,” said Golden State Water Company Water Quality Manager Samantha Chen in a statement posted on the company’s website<\/a>. “Before consuming the water, customers are advised to flush their water taps. Despite the severity of the Christmas Eve storm, the water system proved resilient, and emergency generators ensured the water system remained operational during the power outage.”<\/p>\n

The company posted instructions on how to flush water taps, drain hot water from water heaters, and dispose of juice and ice made from tap water here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the severe storms, heavy debris flows and flooding damaged a fire hydrant, resulting in reduced water pressure in some areas of Wrightwood.<\/p>\n

The fire hydrant has since been repaired, restoring full water pressure to the affected areas.<\/p>\n
