PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia International Airport expects Monday to be the second-busiest travel day of the Christmas holiday rush.<\/p>\n
PHL predicts more than 93,000 passengers will fly in or out of the city on Monday.<\/p>\n
That’s just under 1,000 fewer than the busiest day, which was the day after Christmas.<\/p>\n
There were at least 55 delays and 30 cancellations already as of Monday morning, but travelers we spoke to weren’t having any trouble.<\/p>\n
“I was expecting it to be busier because it’s just a few days after Christmas, that’s when people are coming through, but it’s a good surprise that it’s not,” said Hannah Melton of Panama City, Florida.<\/p>\n
“It was an easy trip back to Philadelphia from Indiana. I had a stop in Washington, no delays to speak of, and I got my luggage right away,” said Rob Walters of Newark, Delaware. “I don’t know what could make my day any easier.”<\/p>\n
Most holiday travelers are driving.<\/p>\n
AAA noon to 8pm will be the busiest time on the roads Monday.
