{"id":478551,"date":"2025-12-29T21:43:18","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T21:43:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/478551\/"},"modified":"2025-12-29T21:43:18","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T21:43:18","slug":"austin-dethrones-fort-worth-as-4th-most-populous-texas-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/478551\/","title":{"rendered":"Austin dethrones Fort Worth as 4th most populous Texas city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 Austin has snatched back the title of fourth most populous Texas city from Fort Worth after two years.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/demographics.texas.gov\/Estimates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas Demographic Center\u2019s 2024 Population Estimates<\/a> report, Austin\u2019s January 2025 population estimate was 1,054,007 \u2014 a slight increase from the July 2024 estimate of 1,033,097.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth\u2019s January 2025 population estimate grew to 1,030,987 from 1,009,064 in July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The overtaking comes even though Fort Worth had a percent change of 11.1% between 2020 to 2025, while Austin only had a percent change of 9.6% for those years. Still, it was an increase from Austin\u2019s 2020 to 2024 percent change of 7.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Houston stands as the most populous Texas city with a January 2025 estimate of 2,383,293.
