While Samsung continues a tight partnership with Google over Gemini, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/07\/25\/samsung-apple-foldable-gemini-ai-galaxy-s26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed earlier this year<\/a> that it would offer AI features beyond Gemini in the future.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2025\/11\/24\/samsung-perplexity-bixby-upgrade-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Last we\u2019d heard<\/a>, Samsung was working with Perplexity to hand off everything but the \u201cbasic\u201d Bixby interactions off to the AI assistant and that the functionality would arrive on the Galaxy S26 series next year. <\/p>\n<p>Now, though, we\u2019re getting an early look.<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<p>As noted by <a href=\"https:\/\/sammyguru.com\/samsung-quietly-boosts-bixby-with-perplexity-ai-in-one-ui-8-5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SammyGuru<\/a>, one user <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/achultra\/status\/2004921904428359933\">on Twitter\/X found<\/a> that the Perplexity-enhanced Bixby was live on their device through an app update. Bixby version 4.0.50.4 seemingly enables the feature on One UI 8.5\u2019s beta, but that version hasn\u2019t been made widely available yet.<\/p>\n<p>In a screenshot provided, we can see Bixby responding to a weather query, recommending wearing a jacket, detailing wind chill, and adding in further information about the day\u2019s forecasted conditions. Assuming the original question was something like \u201cshould I wear a jacket today,\u201d the current Bixby simply doesn\u2019t respond at all.
