The water had reportedly risen to his door.

DFR confirmed the break upon arrival and notified the city water department of about 2 to 3 feet of stand water at the site.

No cars are currently in the water, police say. Access to Oak Lawn Avenue has been blocked from Harry Hines and from I-35, according to DFR. The northbound exit on I-35 to Oak Lawn Avenue is also closed.

The leak is reportedly at the frontage road and Oak Lawn Avenue, and at the lanes heading into the Design District.

It’s unknown at this time how long it will take to mitigate the break.
