The trends are changing \u2014 truthfully, trends change at a rapid rate in the world of K-pop \u2014 and a new sound seems to be emerging as 2026 approaches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOverall, girl groups had a genuinely impressive year. Between NMIXX\u2019s long-overdue breakout moment with \u201cBlue Valentine\u201d to Jennie\u2019s iconic \u201cLike Jennie\u201d to WSJN\u2019s Dayoung making a sleeper hit out of \u201cBody,\u201d 2025 belonged to the women of K-pop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThat\u2019s not to say boy groups didn\u2019t also influence the K-pop culture of 2025. SHINee, one of K-pop\u2019s most legendary boy groups, came out on top with their tearful and heartfelt \u201cPoet | Artist,\u201d a tribute to their late member Jonghyun. ATEEZ, Boynextdoor and Cortis pushed boundaries with their own standout releases.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tGiven the sheer number of releases in K-pop, it would be near impossible to from a pool of every single K-pop song released in 2025. For each act, all of their releases were considered, and the strongest release was picked to represent them against the rest of this year\u2019s offering. Singles (and just one promoted B-side) were picked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHeading into 2026, it\u2019s time to look back at what K-pop songs shaped the ever-growing ecosystem. K-pop\u2019s global evolution was clear throughout the 2025 releases; however, many groups opted to stick to the quintessential K-pop sound that made the industry appealing in the first place, hitting just the right note of nostalgia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThese are the 40 best K-pop songs of 2025.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"pmc-fallback-list-items lrv-a-unstyle-list lrv-u-margin-t-2\">\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\tHonorable Mentions<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tTrimming down to just 40 songs felt near impossible, so a few honorable mentions were surely needed. These three rising artists are on the cusp, making solid tracks that deserve greater recognition. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\u201cShaLaLa\u201d \u2014 Say My Name\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe girl group, hailing from Jaejoong\u2019s iNKODE label, has all the ingredients to catapult them into the next level, including their dreamy, bubblegum pop sounds showcased in \u201cShaLaLa.\u201d The now eight-member group gained early interest for several reasons, including their leader Hitomi, a former member of IZ*ONE and J-pop outfit AKB48. Say My Name\u2019s next release, &amp;Our Vibe, is slated for release later this month.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\u201cRizz\u201d \u2014 XLOV\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tXLOV\u2019s genderless concept is a groundbreaking step forward in the world of K-pop. With each recent release, the group\u2019s popularity has grown significantly; however, \u201cRizz\u201d feels like a real turning point for the four-member outfit. The song\u2019s infectiously catchy and its choreography is tailor-made for TikTok vitality. Come this time next year, XLOV will likely have a much larger presence globally, if the past six months alone are any indication.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\u201cI Don\u2019t Care\u201d \u2014 Baby DONT Cry\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPNation, the label founded by legendary K-pop singer Psy, debuted its first girl group earlier this year, <a data-id=\"1236296786\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-news\/baby-dont-cry-psy-soyeon-kpop-girl-group-interview-1236296786\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">introducing the four members of Baby DONT Cry <\/a>to the world. The girl group, who launched under the creative direction of Idle\u2019s Soyeon, carried on their signature \u201cbaby rock\u201d sound with their first comeback, \u201cI Don\u2019t Care.\u201d The girl power anthem is the perfect example of pop-rock meets K-pop, and is a fun direction for the young members of the group.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cElectric Heart\u201d \u2014 8Turn<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe eight-member boy group\u2019s 2023 debut earned them a solid fanbase. In the two years since that debut, 8Turn has been steadily releasing a solid boy group discography. Their latest single, \u201cElectric Heart,\u201d is an incredible showcase of the group\u2019s talent and solid case as to why K-pop fans should be paying attention to them. The refreshing summer track exudes youthful energy that will stick with listeners long after switching to the next track. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cShoot (Firecracker)\u201d \u2014 Chaeyoung (Twice)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tChaeyoung, a member of chart-topping girl group Twice, released her first studio album, Lil Fantasy Vol.1, earlier this year. The nine-track album is led by the groovy single, \u201cShoot (Firecracker).\u201d The three-minute song is quite the departure from Twice\u2019s discography, allowing the 26-year-old to explore creatively in a way she hasn\u2019t yet been able to. It\u2019s a solid debut, and sonically speaking, it\u2019s perhaps the strongest Twice solo thus far. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cAll My Poetry\u201d \u2014 Close Your Eyes<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tRookie boy group Close Your Eyes, formed through Korean music competition series Project 7, set the bar high with their debut track, \u201cAll My Poetry.\u201d The seven-member boy group manages to find originality through the a nostalgia heavy track, setting themselves apart in today\u2019s K-pop landscape. It\u2019s a strong start for the group, who clearly have a bright future ahead. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cCameo Love\u201d \u2014 TripleS<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPicking just one TripleS song to consider is quite a task, given the group\u2019s concept of ever-evolving sub-units lends to more releases than most K-pop groups might in a given year. The group\u2019s recent album, msnz, features all 24 members of the mega-girl group, split into four sub-units. \u201cCameo Love,\u201d a dreamy, breezy single by the group\u2019s Moon unit (Sullin, SoHyun, JiYeon, Kaede, ShiOn and Lynn) is an instant standout on the album and of the year. It\u2019s the strongest track the \u2014 frankly underrated \u2014 girl group has put out this year. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cBad Desire (With or Without You)\u201d \u2014 Enhypen<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEnhypen remains one of the most consistent boy groups promoting today. The seven-member outfit has spent the five years since their debut building an instantly recognizable sound, while still exploring new genres and styles in an exciting way. \u201cBad Desire\u201d is a quintessential Enhypen song, and that in and of itself is a true compliment. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cRich Man\u201d \u2014 Aespa<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe coolest girls in K-pop \u2014 Aespa, of course \u2014 opted to pivot in 2025 to a more traditional K-pop route after their legendary 2024 title track run. In the end, it worked out, as \u201cRich Man\u201d serves as a reminder that Aespa has many layers, and the ability to dip in and out of different pop genres. The track is also just really catchy, so that doesn\u2019t hurt either. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cBlue\u201d \u2014 Zerobaseone<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe nine-member boy group, whose permeant future still remains unclear, accomplished a real return-to-form with \u201cBlue.\u201d The song is reminiscent of the boy group\u2019s iconic debut song, \u201cIn Bloom,\u201d which is truly Zerobaseone, or ZB1 for short, at their best. The single, released in February, is one that ZB1 will likely always be remembered for. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cDo It\u201d \u2014 Stray Kids<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe eight-member boy group \u2014 about to wrap yet-another banner year as one of the top talents in the world of K-pop \u2014 delivered a late-in-the-year addition with their most recent single, \u201cDo It.\u201d The track\u2019s as energetic as all Stray Kids songs are, however, it showcases an almost mellow side to the group that listeners haven\u2019t heard recently. The nearly three-minute track is a welcome vehicle to show off the group\u2019s vocal talents. \u201cDo It\u201d has an addicting quality, which is surely one of the reasons fans keep coming back for another listen. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cStyle\u201d \u2014 Hearts2Hearts<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSM\u2019s rookie girl group released a steady stream of songs in 2025 following their debut. But \u201cStyle\u201d remains a great look into the group\u2019s overall potential and talent. The fun and energetic track fills a much needed void in the current girl group sonic landscape. The group\u2019s most recent single, \u201cFocus,\u201d was a close second in terms of their best of the year, but \u201cStyle\u201d showcases the unlimited potential for the girl group, and it\u2019s a direction that can, and will, take Hearts2Hearts far.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cThunder\u201d \u2014 Seventeen<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFor the powerhouse boy group, \u201cThunder\u201d is a chance to wade into unchartered waters. The 13-member group celebrated their 10th anniversary this year, and is letting this song (and the album it hails from) be the beginning of the group\u2019s next chapter. It\u2019s likely the last title track with all 13 members featured for a while, as several members of Seventeen have enlisted in their mandatory military service and will continue to, so it earns its own special place. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cLove Language\u201d \u2014 Tomorrow x Together<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe five-member boy group\u2019s summer anthem is one of the group\u2019s strongest tracks in recent memory. It blends the upbeat energy of TXT\u2019s early days with the dreamy pop sound they\u2019ve built for themselves in recent years. After their last release, \u201cBeautiful Strangers,\u201d it feels like TXT is on an exciting new path sonically and artistically, which very well might lead to a big 2026 for the group.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cI Want It\u201d \u2014 STAYC<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe six-member girl group is one of the most consistent in the world of K-pop. STAYC has been releasing energetic and oftentimes bubblegum pop perfection since their 2020 debut and this summer track is a standout of the year. \u201cI Want It\u201d is a great showcase of the group\u2019s talent \u2014 in case you forgot \u2014 and it\u2019s just plain fun. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cAdult Swim\u201d \u2014 Kai<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe 31-year-old singer\u2019s post-military enlistment return \u201cAdult Swim\u201d was the breath of fresh air 2025 needed. The pre-release single \u2014 on top of being nearly impossible to get out of your head \u2014 featured energetic choreography that only Kai, known as one of the best dancers in K-pop, could pull off. The groovy track is quite different than the last single he released prior to his enlistment \u2014 a delightful surprise given how well \u201cRover\u201d did for the singer \u2014 and it was ultimately the right choice. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cR U OK?\u201d \u2014 Ifeye<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tGirl group Ifeye was a standout of the 2025 KCON L.A.\u2019s crop of rookies, standing high above the rest with their strong performance skills. The six-member group, from Hi-Hat Entertainment, debuted in April and had their first comeback over the summer, with \u201cR U OK?\u201d serving the title track. It\u2019s unique, youthful and a great addition to this year\u2019s musical offerings. If \u201cR U OK?\u201d is any indication, big things are in store for Ifeye in 2026. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cJump\u201d \u2014 Blackpink<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe biggest girl group in the world have been busy creating four successful solo careers, a genuinely impressive feat that\u2019s by no means easy. Blackpink reunited for \u201cJump\u201d \u2014 the group\u2019s first release in nearly three years \u2014 ahead of their 2025 Deadline world tour. The dance-pop didn\u2019t disappoint \u2014 it clicks on the first listen \u2014 and it\u2019s quickly become a staple in the group\u2019s discography. If you found yourself around Seoul this summer, \u201cJump\u201d was unavoidable, playing on a loop throughout Myeongdong storefronts and beyond. As the group seemingly moves further into a solo-first model, full group songs will always hold a special place in the hearts of fans around the world. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cWhite Cat\u201d \u2014 Yves<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe 28-year-old singer continues to make some of the most compelling music in K-pop, releasing a slew of refreshing and out-of-the-box tracks in the years since Loona\u2019s end. Yves\u2019 collaboration with PinkPantheress \u201cSoap\u201d certainly pushed her further into the global pop scene, but the track \u201cWhite Cat\u201d felt like the clear standout of the year. It\u2019s so completely Yves \u2014 a rarity in music at the moment \u2014 and is a great example of an artist figuring out what works for them and digging into that space creatively. \u201cWhite Cat\u201d is truly Yves at her best. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cOnly cry in the rain\u201d \u2014 Chuu<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMuch like her fellow former Loona member on this list, Chuu has firmly found her place sonically as a soloist. The 26-year-old\u2019s latest single, \u201cOnly cry in the rain,\u201d is a wonderful moment for the singer to stick to the sound she\u2019s found for herself, while still offering a softer, more reflective track. The melodic pop track is dreamy and exudes nostalgia, to the point where it feels wrong to hear the song outside of the coming-of-age music video setting. Chuu has the reputation of being one of the nicest people in K-pop, but she\u2019s also perhaps one of the most underrated K-pop talents in terms of the quality and consistency of her solo releases. Here\u2019s to hoping 2026 brings more spotlight there with the release of her first studio album, XO, My Cyberlove, set to be released next month.  <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cHot\u201d \u2014 Le Sserafim<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe five-member girl group hailing from Hybe\u2019s Source Music is constantly evolving \u2014 a perfect example is the range in releases in 2025 from the experimental \u201cSpaghetti\u201d and captivating \u201cHot.\u201d It was tough to even select their best track of the year \u2014 given how different the sounds are \u2014 but \u201cHot\u201d proves to be a song that will likely define Le Sserafim\u2019s sound for years to come. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cBloom\u201d \u2014 Rescene<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThere\u2019s a subset of K-pop fans that vocally long for the \u201cold days\u201d of girl groups but often find themselves only looking at artists from major labels. Everything those fans might want is absolutely out there thanks to groups like Rescene. The five-member outfit has steadily become one of the most promising artists in all of K-pop since their 2024 release. \u201cBloom,\u201d their latest single, feels like a throw back to soft, bubblegum pop of days past, with a 2025 twist. Rescene\u2019s long overdue for a big break moment, and \u201cBloom\u201d just pushes them further in that direction. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cKillin\u2019 It Girl\u201d \u2014 J-Hope<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhen BTS announced that they would begin enlisting in the military and would be releasing solo music throughout that period \u2014 in case you\u2019ve been living under a rock, <a data-id=\"1236294510\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/music\/music-news\/bts-anniversary-reunion-military-discharge-1236294510\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">they\u2019re thankfully back<\/a> \u2014 it seemed clear what direction each member would take. However, J-Hope, who had one of the biggest solo discographies before that time, came out of left field with a new direction in his truly spectacular 2025 releases. \u201cKillin\u2019 It Girl\u201d is a notch above the rest of recent solo releases, becoming a true moment in K-pop in 2025. It\u2019s also just damn catchy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cCrzy\u201d \u2014 Haechan (NCT)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFor his solo debut, one of NCT\u2019s most valuable players channeled his inner Justin Timberlake, resulting in the superb single, \u201cCrzy.\u201d The 25-year-old\u2019s distinct vocal tone has helped shape NCT 127\u2019s and NCT Dream\u2019s discographies for years, but it was wonderful to see Haechan get the chance to shine all on his own. Everything about the release fit the singer well down to the styling and choreography. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cBurning Up\u201d \u2014 Meovv<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Black Label\u2019s first girl group keeps climbing higher, each new release more exciting than the last. \u201cBurning Up,\u201d the latest in that string of releases, fits Meovv perfectly. Each release has allowed the five members of the girl group to carve out their own space as individual performers as well, not an easy task, while still proving they work well as a unit. Meovv is one of the most exciting acts currently active, and it\u2019s highly likely they\u2019ll find their global profile is one or two releases away from exploding. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cCountdown\u201d \u2014 TWS<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhen Pledis Entertainment\u2019s latest boy group burst onto the scene, K-pop fans, and even casual listeners, were enthralled. In the nearly two years since, TWS has proven they posses a staying power that\u2019s becoming more uncommon in the ever increasing K-pop landscape. \u201cCountdown\u201d feels most reminiscent of the sound that propelled them into early success. It\u2019s refreshing and youthful, two words that perfectly describe the six-member boy group. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cMaybe Tomorrow\u201d \u2014 Day6<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIncluding the four-member band feels controversial only in the sense that it begs the question \u2014 Is Day6 a K-pop group? Hailing from K-pop giant JYP, Day6 stands alone on this list as the only true band. Their profile in Korea has exploded in recent years, for good reason. \u201cMaybe Tomorrow\u201d is a stunning display of talent, and it\u2019s nearly impossible to listen to it just once. Whether or not the band quite fits the K-pop mold, they\u2019ve more than earned a place as one of the best songs of the year. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cPretty Boy\u201d \u2014 P1Harmony<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThis list is strictly for singles, and while including \u201cPretty Boy\u201d is a bit of a technicality, it wouldn\u2019t be complete without it. The P1Harmony promoted B-side is downright addicting. It\u2019s a fan favorite, as it should be. It\u2019s also a great blueprint for the six-member boy group\u2019s path forward. Their latest English language release Ex proves that they took notes on the success of this track. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cRebel Heart\u201d \u2014 IVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe six-member outfit is one of the most successful K-pop groups in recent history. They\u2019ve dominated charts in Korea since their debut and filled arenas in the U.S. during their first tour stateside. \u201cRebel Heart\u201d is IVE at their best. The pre-release track showcases the group\u2019s vocal range and serves as a great example of why they work so well as a group. It should be remembered as a quintessential IVE track alongside hits like \u201cLove Dive\u201d and \u201cI Am.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\t\u201cMy First Love Song\u201d \u2014 Kickflip<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tRookie boy group Kickflip has shown great potential, best exemplified through their single, \u201cMy First Love Song.\u201d Imagine if 5 Seconds of Summer released a K-pop song, that\u2019s the space \u201cMy First Love Song\u201d finds itself in. The breezy and bright H1-Key song should be on the playlist of any K-pop fan. \u201cSummer Was You\u201d sounds like it was made to be played during the montage of a summer movie and demands to be played at full volume. It understandably became one of the most successful K-pop songs in Korea this year. The sultry track showcases ATEEZ\u2019s ability to seamlessly blend eight unique voices together. Hongjoong, the group\u2019s captain, has the standout moment of the track with his second verse rap, but the song truly allows each member of the group to shine \u2014 fitting as the single for an album that featured a solo song for each member. \u201dIn Your Fantasy\u201d is the group\u2019s highest charting track on the Billboard Hot 100 to-date. Unsurprisingly, the song gave the six-member girl group their long overdue moment of domestic success, topping the charts in Korea. There\u2019s no one in K-pop consistently releasing exciting and genre-bending music like NMIXX.
