AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) — If your holiday week plans included some work on your golf swing, take note.<\/p>\n
Topgolf Auburn Hills was temporarily closed on Monday due to some structural damage to the facility’s safety netting during recent inclement weather \u2014 including high winds and freezing rain.<\/p>\n
Video and photos of the situation has been making the rounds on social media Monday, while there was a High Wind Warning in effect<\/a> for all of Southeast Michigan, with forecasters warning of powerful gusts up to 50 miles per hour.<\/p>\n Topgolf said the safety of its players and employees are the company’s primary concern, and that guests with existing reservations would be contacted directly about refunds or rescheduling.<\/p>\n A Topgolf spokesperson added, in a statement send to WWJ: “We have secured the site and are working diligently to obtain the specialized equipment required to repair the netting and support cables…We appreciate the community\u2019s patience as we work to meet our rigorous safety standards before reopening.”<\/p>\n It appears the closure will last at least through Dec. 31.<\/p>\n
