Houston\u2019s entertainment news proves the diversity of our city.<\/p>\n<p>Read on for the 10 top Houston entertainment headlines of 2025: <\/p>\n<p>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/entertainment\/texas-renaissance-festival-lawsuit-changes\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Winner of Ren Fest lawsuit plans to keep the event mostly unchanged<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texrenfest.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Renaissance Festival<\/a> got a new owner this year, following a contentious court battle. But what would that mean for the beloved fall festival that generations have come to love? Surprisingly little for attendees. The new owner vowed to keep RenFest mostly the same. \u201c&#8230;We&#8217;re sticking with what works,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hanszenlaporte.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anthony Laporte<\/a>, the attorney representing the new owner. \u201c&#8230;Both the old owners and the new ones are planning to give visitors a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Texas Renaissance Festival\/ Facebook<\/p>\n<p>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/entertainment\/texas-renaissance-festival-sale-judgement\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Judge rules Texas Renaissance Festival owner must sell his kingdom<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>For more than half a century, George Coulam reigned as king of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texrenfest.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Renaissance Festival <\/a>in Todd Mission. In 2023, he agreed to sell the beloved festival, then reneged on the deal. In May, a Grimes County judge ordered the sale to go through in the culmination of a long legal battle. The drama behind the festival was depicted in the HBO docuseries <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/entertainment\/texas-renaissance-festival-docuseries-response\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Ren Faire<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3. <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/entertainment\/greg-gatlin-eliminated-bbq-brawl\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Star Houston pitmaster flames out on Food Network barbecue competition<\/strong><\/a>. On July 20, Houston pitmaster Greg Gatlin\u2019s run on the Food Network show BBQ Brawl came to an end. Judges criticized his preparation of New York strip with grilled broccolini with Calabrian chili. The owner of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatlinsbbq.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Gatlin\u2019s BBQ<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/restaurants-bars\/07-11-22-gatlins-fins-and-feathers-new-restaurant-comfort-food-greg-gatlin-opening-date-independence-heights\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Gatlin\u2019s Fins &amp; Feathers<\/a>, took the disappointing news in stride. \u201cIt hurts, but I think I did my family\u2019s name proud,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>4. <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/entertainment\/colorado-club-reopening-cle-group\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Premier Houston nightclub group reopening iconic strip club this month<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>This summer, the <a href=\"https:\/\/clegroup.com\/venues\/colorado-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Colorado Club<\/strong><\/a> became part of The Cl\u00e9 Group\u2019s portfolio. The strip club was a magnet for A-listers in the 1990s and early \u201800s. Following the death of founder <a href=\"https:\/\/whatnow.com\/houston\/restaurants\/a-decked-out-tiki-bar-is-in-the-works\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dallas Fontenot<\/a> in September 2021, the venue passed to his son Dakota, who ultimately decided to sell the club. The new owners upgraded the food and implemented a host of other improvements like state-of-the-art lighting and sound, an updated design, and multiple stages.<\/p>\n<p>5. <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/entertainment\/bun-b-birthday-bonanza-rodeohouston-concert-review\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Bun B, Ludacris, Keith Sweat, and more throw epic birthday bonanza at RodeoHouston<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>Houston hip-hop legend Bun B threw himself a birthday party on March 7, in his appearance at the <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/eventdetail\/houston-livestock-show-and-rodeo-2666407495\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Houston Livestock<\/a> Show and Rodeo\u2019s Black Heritage Day. TSU\u2019s Ocean of Soul and Prairie View A&amp;M\u2019s Marching Storm bands performed sets, and video greetings from celebs were part of the pre-concert festivities. The concert had strong performances but some unfortunate technical glitches.<\/p>\n<p>6. <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/entertainment\/white-linen-night-parties-2025\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>All the White Linen Night parties happening in the Heights and beyond<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>From its beginnings in the Heights, White Linen Night has spread across the Bayou City.
