Actor Mickey Rourke faces eviction from his Los Angeles home after failing to pay rent.<\/p>\n
Rourke, whose birth name is Philip Andre Rourke Jr., received a three-day notice to pay rent or vacate the premises on Dec. 18 and had failed to comply, according to court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday.<\/p>\n
At the time of the notice, he owed $59,100 in unpaid rent. <\/p>\n
A representative for Rourke did not immediately respond to a request for comment. <\/p>\n
In March, Rourke signed a lease for the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath house for $5,200 a month; it was subsequently raised to $7,000 a month, states the court filings. <\/p>\n
A Zillow listing describes the property as a \u201cnicely upgraded Spanish bungalow\u201d built in 1926. Raymond Chandler was said to have resided there for two years in the 1940s. <\/p>\n
The property\u2019s owner, Eric Gold, is requesting compensation for attorney\u2018s fees and for damages. A lawyer for Gold was unavailable for comment. <\/p>\n
A former boxer, Rourke, 73, turned to acting with small roles in the 1980 film \u201cHeaven\u2019s Gate\u201d and \u201cBody Heat\u201d a year later, before earning acclaim for his role in 1982\u2019s \u201cDiner.\u201d <\/p>\n
After a slate of leading roles in a number of movies including \u201cThe Pope of Greenwich Village,\u201d \u201c9 1\/2 Weeks\u201d and \u201cRumble Fish,\u201d Rourke\u2018s film career took a nosedive, with his off-screen antics frequently overshadowing his acting.<\/p>\n

But I was like this person who was short-circuited and I didn\u2019t know how to fix myself.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2005 he reemerged with the neo-noir action thriller \u201cSin City.\u201d <\/p>\n Three years later, Rourke\u2019s portrayal of aging, washed up wrestler Randy \u201cThe Ram\u201d Robinson, in the Darren Aronofsky film \u201cThe Wrestler,\u201d earned him a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for lead actor. <\/p>\n Rourke\u2019s return to the big screen has not been an entirely smooth ride. <\/p>\n In April, he agreed to exit \u201cCelebrity Big Brother UK\u201d<\/a> after producers warned him over the use of \u201cinappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior,\u201d according to a statement a spokesperson for the show released at the time. <\/p>\n His remarks allegedly included comments about JoJo Siwa\u2019s sexuality<\/a> <\/p>\n
