The mission will mark the first time astronauts will journey to the vicinity of the moon since Apollo 17<\/a> in December 1972.<\/p>\n A day before the rehearsal, newly confirmed<\/a> NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman<\/a> posted on the social media platform X<\/a> that “Artemis 2 is America’s return to the moon, and the start of something much bigger.”<\/p>\n The following mission, Artemis 3<\/a>, will attempt to land astronauts on the surface of the moon.
