If you haven\u2019t already got plans or want to try some different for New Year\u2019s Eve (aka Wednesday, December 31), there is an absolutely free event taking place that will have all howling. Or, rather, not howling.<\/p>\n

Dallas Animal Services<\/a> is hosting \u201cCalming The Canines<\/a>\u201d from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at its facility at 1818 Westmoreland Road.<\/p>\n

Since New Year\u2019s Eve can be a daunting affair for animals in the shelter with fireworks and other hoopla, the night can be pretty stressful. That\u2019s why the night\u2019s program reading to the pooches can calm the anxiety.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to dress all fancy unless you want to show off that new outfit. But you are encouraged to bring your own chair or yoga mat and to attend the brief orientation at 10:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Even if it\u2019s past your usual bedtime, rest easy. You can sleep in Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

BTW, consider ride sharing or carpooling and arrive early.<\/p>\n
