Wind chills from expected breezy weather midweek, meanwhile, will make it feel even colder, likely down into the 20s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">\u201cIt will be cold and breezy for the [<a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/mummers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mummers<\/a>] parade on Thursday, but nothing significant otherwise,\u201d Staarmann said. \u201cJust dress warmly.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">That\u2019s something of a relief following <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/weather\/philadelphia-weather-forecast-wind-new-years-eve-20251229.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/weather\/philadelphia-weather-forecast-wind-new-years-eve-20251229.html\">Monday and Tuesday\u2019s windy weather<\/a>, which saw wind gusts topping 50 mph amid a wind advisory that was <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/showsigwx.php?warnzone=PAZ071&amp;warncounty=PAC101&amp;firewxzone=PAZ071&amp;local_place1=Philadelphia%20PA&amp;product1=Wind+Advisory&amp;lat=39.9511&amp;lon=-75.1656\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/showsigwx.php?warnzone=PAZ071&amp;warncounty=PAC101&amp;firewxzone=PAZ071&amp;local_place1=Philadelphia%20PA&amp;product1=Wind+Advisory&amp;lat=39.9511&amp;lon=-75.1656\">extended until at least 4 p.m.<\/a> The strongest winds came late Monday, with gusts hitting 60 mph at <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/philadelphia-airport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philadelphia International Airport<\/a> just after 8 p.m., <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/partnerservices.nws.noaa.gov\/products\/cache\/364-2025\/PNSPHI\/a0c59a4f0d4fc8908e98c0a506d0f2cd?fbclid=IwY2xjawPA4NtleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEegGe6Z0fFjLC5FBgQlXSiJMQ6BzVMh1_rhqwczlvTeLEVMERJ_DvPtUAEuSw_aem_aG7mGSyACJ5gNt-f_BQ2IA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/partnerservices.nws.noaa.gov\/products\/cache\/364-2025\/PNSPHI\/a0c59a4f0d4fc8908e98c0a506d0f2cd?fbclid=IwY2xjawPA4NtleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEegGe6Z0fFjLC5FBgQlXSiJMQ6BzVMh1_rhqwczlvTeLEVMERJ_DvPtUAEuSw_aem_aG7mGSyACJ5gNt-f_BQ2IA\">according to weather service data<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Wind on Wednesday \u2014 New Year\u2019s Eve \u2014 is expected to abate significantly, with sustained speeds up to 15 mph and gusts topping out at 25 mph, Staarmann said. Thursday \u2014 New Year\u2019s Day \u2014 will be similarly breezy, with gusts topping out at 30 mph on top of sustained wind in the 15- to 20-mph range. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">That cold and wind will be accompanied by slight chances of snow showers or flurries, though no accumulation is expected. The best chance for snow showers comes overnight Wednesday into Thursday, when forecasters give Philadelphia about a 40% chance of snow. But as of midday Tuesday, the possibility of any snow was somewhat unlikely. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">There was likewise a small possibility of some flurries early Wednesday morning, but Staarmann pegged the potential there at about 20%. Likewise, no accumulation was expected. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">\u201cWe could maybe get a small chance of a dusting, but there are not great chances of that, and nothing significant,\u201d Staarmann said. \u201cIf anything, just flurries to maybe a light dusting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Lacking any significant winter weather, holiday revelers heading to <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/news\/nye-concert-philadelphia-lineup-road-closures-benjamin-franklin-parkway-20251222.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/news\/nye-concert-philadelphia-lineup-road-closures-benjamin-franklin-parkway-20251222.html\">Philadelphia\u2019s first New Year\u2019s Eve concert Wednesday<\/a> are likely in the clear, aside from the cold. The concert, set to begin at 8 p.m. on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, will feature performances by LL Cool J, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Los Angeles rock band Dorothy, and Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts graduate Adam Blackstone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Folks heading to Thursday\u2019s Mummers Parade are likely to see similar weather. Those festivities are <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/news\/philadelphia\/philadelphia-mummers-parade-guide-2026-new-years-day-20251218.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/news\/philadelphia\/philadelphia-mummers-parade-guide-2026-new-years-day-20251218.html\">set to kick off at 9 a.m.<\/a>, as more than 10,000 performers hit Philly\u2019s streets for the day\u2019s celebrations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">As the week wears on, the weather for the first days of 2026 is expected to be \u201cfairly uneventful,\u201d <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=NWS&amp;issuedby=PHI&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=CI&amp;version=1&amp;highlight=off&amp;glossary=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=NWS&amp;issuedby=PHI&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=CI&amp;version=1&amp;highlight=off&amp;glossary=1\">according to weather service forecasts<\/a>.
