\nThe Bulatoko
\ncommunity in northwest Sydney is still in shock following a stabbing
\nincident that occurred at a home on Illabo Street, claiming the lives
\nof two people on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
Speaking on behalf of the
\nBulatoko community,
\nBex
\nPeterson, the Director of Lewa Strong, a movement for Pasifika
\nViolence Prevention, says one of the things they want to be clear
\nabout is that this incident was not a love triangle.<\/p>\n
She
\nsays this was a case of domestic violence and stalking behaviour by
\nthe accused.
\nPeterson\u00a0says the man who also died was
\nnot Anaseini Waqavuki\u2019s partner, as previously reported, but an
\nacquaintance of Waqavuki.<\/p>\n
She highlighted that Waqavuki\u2019s
\nrelationship with the accused ended two months ago, as she was
\nexperiencing different forms of violence during their dating
\nperiod.
\nPeterson\u00a0says Waqavuki was a lively person who could
\nlight up a room when she entered, and they miss her so much.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,
\n47-year-old Anare Vunitabua has been charged with murder in connection with the pair\u2019s deaths.<\/p>\n
Vunitabua allegedly killed his former
\npartner, Anaseini Waqavuki, and her associate on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
The
\n30-year-old associate was found on the footpath outside her Illabo
\nStreet home in Quakers Hill with stab wounds to his stomach and
\nhands.<\/p>\n
He was rushed to hospital but died a few hours
\nlater.<\/p>\n
Waqavuki was found dead in her kitchen, having
\nsuffered multiple stab wounds.<\/p>\n
Vunitabua requested to
\nappear before the Bail Division Court yesterday morning, however the
\nmagistrate declined to bring him in, as it was not
\nnecessary.<\/p>\n
Vunitabua did not apply for bail and will
\nremain in custody ahead of his next hearing in February 2026 at the
\nDowning Centre Local Court.<\/p>\n
NSW Police Superintendent
\nJason Joyce on Sunday indicated the alleged stabbings were domestic
\nviolence-related.<\/p>\n
Superintendent Joyce described the scene
\nas \u201ctraumatic\u201d and \u201cconfronting\u201d for emergency services and
\nneighbours.<\/p>\n
A knife has also been recovered from a service
