(File image from video provided by the utility)<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdge.com\/residential\/customer-service\/outage-center\/outage-map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">power outage<\/a> left nearly 10,000 homes and businesses without electrical service Monday across swaths of eastern San Diego County.<\/p>\n<p>The blackout struck just after 5 p.m. Monday, knocking out power to a 9,932 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Diego Gas &amp; Electric<\/a> customers in Casa De Oro, La Presa, Rancho San Diego and Spring Valley, the utility announced.<\/p>\n<p>Service was expected to be restored to all the affected customers by 10:30 p.m., according to SDG&amp;E.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the outage was under investigation, the utility reported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An SDG&amp;E service truck.
