{"id":482956,"date":"2025-12-31T18:24:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-31T18:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/482956\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T18:24:09","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T18:24:09","slug":"former-philly-pops-ticket-buyers-sue-kimmel-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/482956\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Philly Pops ticket buyers sue Kimmel Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Philly and the Pa. suburbs to South Jersey and Delaware, what would you like WHYY News to cover? <a href=\"#Section1\">Let us know!<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>The fallout from the<a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/hilly-pops-shutting-down-orchestra-board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> collapse of the former Philly Pops<\/a> is still playing out in court as a judge has allowed a class action lawsuit to move forward representing ticket holders who paid for concerts that never happened.\n<\/p>\n<p>The suit filed on behalf of ticket holder Carol L. Callahan names as defendants the former Pops parent company Encore Series, Encore\u2019s CEO Frank Giordano, Ticket Philadelphia andThe Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center, Inc.\n<\/p>\n<p>The name \u201cThe Philly Pops\u201d was <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/philly-pops-bestows-no-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently acquired by a new organization<\/a> for its own symphonic pops ensemble concerts. The new Philly Pops is not involved in the lawsuit.\n  <\/p>\n<p>What is the Philly Pops class-action lawsuit about?<\/p>\n<p>The suit claims $1.1 million was raised in ticket revenue for concerts that were announced for the spring of 2023 but never performed. On Nov. 13, Judge Mia R.
