A popular local meteorologist is leaving her home station after less than a year, marking the fourth on-air talent to depart since the summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Julia Fife, 31, a meteorologist at local Fox affiliate, KDFW-TV in Dallas, Texas<\/a>, announced on Monday that the following day would be her last at the station.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘What an honor it has been to work alongside legends in this industry that I\u2019ve looked up to for so many years,’ she wrote on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Thank you DFW for welcoming me into your homes. It\u2019s been a blast and a dream come true for this Texas girl. Stay tuned [heart emoji].’<\/p>\n

Fife’s shocking announcement came just five months after she started at KDFW. She posted a photo at the station in July with the caption: ‘Full circle moment. DFW, I\u2019m back.’ It is unclear why she left, although the station she works for has shed multiple staff as TV networks and affiliates cut costs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before she started her career as a meteorologist, Fife studied at the University of Texas and was a dancer for the Dallas Mavericks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She also tried out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and was featured on CMT’s reality show, but was cut from the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fife returned to Texas earlier this year after a stint at another local Fox affiliate in Memphis, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Fife is the fourth on-air personality to depart the station this year. She didn’t announce where she was going or why she was leaving\u00a0<\/p>\n

She worked as a meteorologist on the station’s Good Morning Memphis broadcast for two years before returning to Dallas.<\/p>\n

The meteorologist’s followers flocked to her social media to express their disappointment at her sudden departure.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘That maybe the fastest exit in FOX4 History,’ one comment read.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘It continues… should we start taking bets on who is leaving next?!’ another wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Let me guess…… The Weather Channel?’ a third speculated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘MAKES ME WONDER WHAT IS GOING ON A FOX 4 — Too many retiring or moving on to different positions,’ a fourth added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

KDFW has lost four on-air personalities this year. Dylan Federico left the station in July for Miami Fox affiliate, WSVN.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fife took over for Federico over the summer, but another meteorologist, Evan Andrews, retired shortly after.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Popular news anchor Hanna Battah left KDFW<\/a>\u00a0to join ABC World News Now and Good Morning America First Look in New York City in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Fife’s colleague and ‘best friend’ Hanna Battah left the station earlier this year to work for ABC News in New York\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Fife congratulated her ‘best friend’ for the promotion at the time, writing on Instagram: ‘Hanna, you\u2019re the most encouraging, humble, talented, loyal, and beautiful person I know.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I\u2019m so proud of you and can\u2019t wait to see you shine in your next chapter.’<\/p>\n

Just a few weeks ago, Fife posted a video of herself watching Battah on ABC News and wrote: ‘Watching your best friend make her dream come true.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although Fife didn’t share why she’s leaving the station or if she has another position lined up, some of her followers have speculated that she’s set to join Battah in New York.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Dang everyone keeps leaving. I think you are going to go be with Hannah 100% Big Apple,’ one comment read.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘First Hanna. And you!!! Who\u2019s stealing our Texas Girls!!!!’ another wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n
