{"id":48418,"date":"2025-07-08T10:18:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T10:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/48418\/"},"modified":"2025-07-08T10:18:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T10:18:12","slug":"high-humidity-rain-chances-increase-this-week-for-jacksonville-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/48418\/","title":{"rendered":"High humidity, rain chances increase this week for Jacksonville area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 Jacksonville is waking up to another muggy morning, with sticky air and plenty of humidity making it tough to stay comfortable. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Temperatures early this morning hovered in the mid-70s, creeping upward toward 80 degrees before sunrise, as seen on the station\u2019s Exact Track 4D graphics. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">High humidity is once again the star of the show, and it\u2019s not going anywhere anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">With temperatures expected to climb quickly, folks across the area will experience \u201ctriple-digit\u201d heat indices, making it feel even hotter than it appears on the thermometer.<\/p>\n<p><b>Forecast: Rainfall and storms returning<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">While Gulf moisture has been letting up a bit this morning, rain chances are expected to ramp back up\u2014especially as we go into tomorrow. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">For most of today, rain will be limited mainly to the north near Georgia and will gradually sweep into the Jacksonville area by the afternoon, generally between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The heaviest downpours are likely to arrive later, as high pressure that\u2019s keeping much of the rain at bay shifts westward. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">By then, heavier showers are forecast for spots like Orange Park, Waycross, and Valdosta, with rainfall accumulations over the next five days expected to reach about a half inch on the coast and up to an inch and a half near Orange Park. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">It\u2019s not expected to be a washout, but if you find yourself under a passing shower, it could be briefly heavy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">This summer-like pattern\u2014hot, humid, and prone to pop-up storms\u2014isn\u2019t anything out of the ordinary for Jacksonville this time of year.<\/p>\n<p><b>Impact on activities<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Long days, high UV levels, and warm beach water mean a few extra things to keep in mind. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Sunscreen is a must if you\u2019re headed to the coast, but swimmers should be cautious, as there is a moderate rip current risk today. It\u2019s a good idea to stay off the coast if you\u2019re unsure about the water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">High temperatures are expected to hold steady in the low to mid-90s across Jacksonville and nearby towns through the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Rain chances will continue through the rest of the work week and into Saturday and Sunday, with showers most likely to develop during the warmest parts of the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Parents planning park or playground time can expect mostly cloudy skies, temperatures quickly climbing from 89 degrees at noon to around 93 degrees by 3 p.m., and increasing rain chances each afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">See something interesting while out in this sticky weather?
