A man suspected of trafficking narcotics was shot and killed by Fontana police when he rammed multiple vehicles during an attempted arrest, authorities said Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened in the parking lot in the 17100 block of Foothill Boulevard around 1:35 p.m., said the Fontana Police Department.<\/p>\n
According to the department, officers tried to detain the suspect wanted in connection with the sale and trafficking of a large quantity of narcotics, mainly fentanyl. During the arrest, the suspect used his vehicle to ram into multiple police vehicles, as well as a nearby civilian\u2019s car. This led to an officer-involved shooting.<\/p>\n
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police did not release the name of the man.<\/p>\n
No officers were injured in this incident.<\/p>\n
As standard procedure, the Fontana Police Department will conduct an internal administrative review.<\/p>\n
