From grassroots protests and festivals rooted in Philadelphia\u2019s communities to global movements that found their way\u00a0to\u00a0its\u00a0streets, our team of photographers bore witness to it all.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The year began with President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0inaugurated\u00a0as the 47th\u00a0president of the\u00a0United\u00a0States\u00a0in January.\u00a0One month later, the Eagles\u00a0won\u00a0their second\u00a0Super\u00a0Bowl.\u00a0Both events ignited a citywide\u00a0uproar.\u00a0As winter turned into spring, the national\u00a0political climate grew increasingly\u00a0tense, and Philadelphia did not\u00a0remain\u00a0silent. Chants of \u201cNo Kings,\u201d \u201cFree Palestine,\u201d and \u201cI believe that we will win\u201d echoed through the streets\u00a0during the\u00a0year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
