The difference here is Splatoon 3 already received a free Switch 2 update last June, enhancing the game&#8217;s resolution and frame rate.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see below, the Switch 2 version was added on 31st December 2025. It joins the existing Switch version filed by &#8216;Nintendo of Europe SE&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"scanlines\" title=\"Splatoon 3\" href=\"https:\/\/images.nintendolife.com\/0c8343afc7070\/splatoon-3.large.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1767323470_48_splatoon-3.900x.jpg\" width=\"900\" height=\"456\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Splatoon 3\"\/><\/a> Image: Nintendo<\/p>\n<p>Splatoon 3 originally started on the Switch in 2022 and its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2025\/09\/splatoon-3-version-10-1-0-now-live-for-switch-and-switch-2-here-are-the-full-patch-notes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most recent update was in September 2025<\/a>. It will be followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/nintendo-switch-2\/splatoon-raiders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Splatoon Raiders<\/a> &#8211; a new spin-off game this year (that&#8217;s 2026).
