{"id":486500,"date":"2026-01-02T06:32:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-02T06:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/486500\/"},"modified":"2026-01-02T06:32:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-02T06:32:12","slug":"pennsylvania-residents-urged-to-verify-pharmacy-network-status-after-incorrect-letters-sent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/486500\/","title":{"rendered":"Pennsylvania residents urged to verify pharmacy network status after incorrect letters sent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"3GPSHMYA2ZC6TN7MPEG6N2DK3I\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pa.gov\/agencies\/insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.pa.gov\/agencies\/insurance\">Pennsylvania Insurance Department<\/a> is investigating reports that some consumers received incorrect letters claiming their local pharmacies are no longer in their insurance networks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"GF5FVC4ZUVEXTPQ2HF3NYOZRNM\">State officials are urging residents who received such letters to contact their insurance company or pharmacy benefits manager directly to confirm their pharmacy\u2019s network status before making any changes to where they fill prescriptions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Q6HXRQBFHBDE3D6WUIFNNKBNBQ\">\u201cLocal pharmacies are a vital part of our communities and health care system,\u201d said Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphreys in a Dec. 23 news release. \u201cThese trusted partners provide accessible, personalized care, medication counseling, and help managing chronic conditions, especially for seniors and individuals in rural or underserved areas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"A3NLSFIGJZDYHMKS7QNL3TAGVQ\">The Pennsylvania Insurance Department received multiple reports of consumers getting letters incorrectly stating certain local pharmacies were out of network. In some cases shared with the department, pharmacy benefits managers later sent correction letters confirming the pharmacies remained in-network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"RGJWVHSFQNHLDEATJKGRB3ZVMQ\">The department is working with insurers, partner organizations, and state and federal agencies to determine the scope of the issue and ensure residents receive accurate information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"CGC5DBQQEFDTNNZEGIIVHP4DAM\">Humphreys said incorrect information disrupts care and creates unnecessary stress for consumers.
