Will Smith<\/a> landed in legal trouble after professional violinist Brian King Joseph<\/a> sued him and his company for sexual harassment, alleging wrongful termination and retaliation. Joseph filed a complaint at the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, against the actor and Treyball Studios Management, Inc. <\/p>\n

In his complaint, the musician claimed that Bad Boys star, 57, \u201cwas deliberately grooming and priming Joseph for further sexual exploitation\u201d after inviting Joseph to join his global tour, \u201cBased on a True Story: 2025,\u201d in 2024, according to PEOPLE.<\/p>\n

Joseph allegedly joined the first leg of the tour in March 2025 in Las Vegas. During the tour, he was provided a hotel room booked by Smith and his team, FOX News reported. The musician claimed “no other individuals besides the crew and hotel staff would have had access” to his personal room.
What does Joseph\u2019s complaint allege against Smith?
The complaint mentions an alleged \u201ctraumatic series of events\u201d in March 2025, amid the Oscar<\/a> winner\u2019s tour. Joseph claimed that he found out that someone had entered his Las Vegas hotel room with no signs of forced entry.\"ETLive EventsEvidence \u201cof a sexual threat of violence\u201d allegedly included a handwritten note reading, \u201cBrian, I\u2019ll be back…just us,\u201d with a drawn heart and signed, \u201cStone F,\u201d as well as \u201cwipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication with another individual\u2019s name, an earring, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to a person unbeknownst to\u201d Joseph, according to reports.
The complaint from Joseph suggested that he allegedly “feared that an unknown individual would soon return to his room to engage in sexual acts” with him.
The documents claimed that he “immediately notified hotel security and representatives for Defendant, obtained photo documentation, requested a room change, and called the local non-emergency police line (311) to report the incident,” as quoted by FOX News.
After Joseph reported the incident to hotel staff, a member of the tour management team later \u201cshamed\u201d Joseph and told him he was being terminated. Another violinist allegedly was hired to assume the same position on the tour, the complaint revealed.<\/p>\n

“Rather than being protected against further assault, and for attempting to understand Plaintiff\u2019s complaint, Plaintiff was shamed by Defendant and told that he was being terminated,” according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Joseph went through \u2018severe emotional distress\u2019
The incident caused Joseph, who competed on America\u2019s Got Talent season 13 in 2018, \u201csevere emotional distress, economic loss, reputational harm, and other damages,\u201d including \u201cPTSD and other mental illness as a result of the termination,\u201d according to the complaint, PEOPLE reported.
