In May 2025<\/a>, Tobey was subsequently arrested at a cannabis business in Northside. Inside his vehicle, police found over 200 grams of meth and a scale.<\/p>\n

Further investigation led to a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant being executed at a residence in Prince Albert\u2019s midtown neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

One vehicle was seized, as well as 725 grams of methamphetamine, 111 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of cocaine buff, $2,470 in Canadian currency, six firearms, a flashlight Conducted Energy Weapon, two sets of brass knuckles, assorted ammunition, two air pistols, two crossbows and a digital scale.<\/p>\n

Slobodian mentioned Tobey\u2019s criminal record included prior convictions for gun-related offences and drug possession, but nothing for trafficking.<\/p>\n

Following his initial arrest, Tobey was in custody for about 28 days before being released on bail. The next month he was re-arrested by Prince Albert RCMP. A traffic stop in the Redwing area led to the seizure of about 64 grams of meth, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.<\/p>\n

Tobey was subsequently charged with possession of the proceeds of crime, possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. However, at the conclusion of Friday\u2019s sentencing hearing, the charges were dropped.<\/p>\n

Slobodian told paNOW it was the result of the resolution discussions that had occurred between himself and defence lawyer Evan Strelioff.<\/p>\n

With a remand credit of 285 days, Tobey has about six years and two months left to serve. He\u2019ll then be subject to a lifetime firearms ban.<\/p>\n

When provided the opportunity in court to speak, he declined.<\/p>\n
