{"id":488426,"date":"2026-01-03T02:17:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T02:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/488426\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T02:17:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T02:17:10","slug":"john-mccain-road-construction-to-start-jan-5-in-colleyville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/488426\/","title":{"rendered":"John McCain Road construction to start Jan. 5 in Colleyville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tConstruction will begin Jan. 5 for the John McCain Road project near the roundabout at Westcoat Drive, according to the Jan. 2 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colleyville.com\/services\/i-want-to\/sign-up-for-enotifications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colleyville e-news email<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s happening? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/grapevine-colleyville-southlake\/government\/2025\/11\/06\/colleyville-council-approves-88k-for-highway-landscape-designs-grant-for-john-mccain-road-bridge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previous reporting<\/a>, the project includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Widening the drainage tunnel on Big Bear Creek west of Monticello Parkway<\/li>\n<li>Making improvements to the roadway curve along John McCain and Stillwater Circle<\/li>\n<li>Replacing the driveway, roadway, curbs, gutters and storm pipes on the bridge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project is expected to take three months to complete, and the bridge will remain closed, according to the email. Local drivers can use Charlottesville Avenue and Monticello Parkway as a detour. Motorists seeking a cut-through to Davis Boulevard are directed to use McDonwell School Road as a detour route.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The cost<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Construction for the project will cost $540,000 and will be funded using grants from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.txdot.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas Department of Transportation<\/a> and Colleyville capital project funds, Assistant City Manager Adrienne Lothery said.
