Emergency crews responded to the Mayfair Shopping Centre food court after bear spray was used Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

VicPD says its officers were called around 2 p.m. for reports that the bear spray was discharged in the busy food court.<\/p>\n

Many people were affected by the spray, including adults and young children.<\/p>\n

Officers believe two youth fired the bear spray, and were targeting another group of youth, however, the suspects have not yet been located.<\/p>\n

VicPD, Victoria Fire, and BC Emergency Health Services responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cBC Emergency Health Services received a call at 2:10 pm today regarding a person in need of medical care on the 3100 block of Douglas Street in Victoria,\u201d paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites said in an email, noting one ambulance responded. <\/p>\n

\u201cParamedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition.\u201d<\/p>\n

VicPD says officers are continuing the investigation and working to identify the suspects.<\/p>\n
