SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Detectives are investigating a shooting Friday after a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen was dropped off at a local hospital by friends.<\/p>\n
The unidentified victim was taken to the Mission Trail Baptist Hospital by three friends shortly before 9 p.m.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe’s got an apparent gunshot wound to his stomach. It looks like it’s an entry and exit,\u201d explained Officer Garcia from the San Antonio police department.<\/p>\n
Detectives interviewed the three people who dropped him off, trying to piece together what happened.<\/p>\n
After receiving initial treatment, the victim was transported by ambulance to San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). He was reported to be in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Investigators are still working to determine the exact time and location of the shooting. Preliminary information suggests the incident may have occurred near a local park within 20 minutes of the victim’s arrival at the hospital.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re trying to get a better idea of when and where and all that,” Garcia said. “His friends brought him here.”<\/p>\n
Police believe there is only one victim involved in the incident.
