Gone are many restaurants and a few shops that had been standards over the course of many years.<\/p>\n<p>In their place are brand new places ranging from high end cocktail bars to brand new restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>Soon, another new face will enter the fray in Portland&#8217;s Old Port. And this new face will be familiar to people from New York as well as Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>PopUp Bagels Will Open a New Location in Portland, Maine<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.portlandoldport.com\/coming-soon-popup-bagels-expands-to-maine-with-new-location\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">According to Portland Old Port<\/a>, a popular New York City bagel chain called PopUp Bagels has signed a lease to take over\u00a0the space at Zero Canal Plaza\u00a0and open a new location.<\/p>\n<p>The newly named Old Port Square\u00a0had previously been home to Nosh Taco as well as the Canadian vegan chain known as Copper Branch. <a href=\"https:\/\/wcyy.com\/vegan-chain-copper-branch-permanently-closes-portland-maine-location\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Neither restaurant lasted particularly long in the space<\/a> citing decreased foot traffic, specifically during lunch rush.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps an award-winning bagel shop has the recipe to be a success in the unique space.<\/p>\n<p>PopUp Bagels Has Become a New York Success Story<\/p>\n<p>What initially began as a backyard window where friends would share bagel recipes has now became a chain that is about to span four different states.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.popupbagels.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PopUp bagels currently operates 7 different shops<\/a> in New York and that success propelled them to expand into different states. They know operate 4 Connecticut locations as well as 2 locations in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>Renovations will get underway with PopUp bagels hopeful to have a grand opening this fall.<\/p>\n<p>10 Bagel Shops I Cannot Live Without in Maine <\/p>\n<p>Bagels are delicious.
