Fatal hit-and-run (Houston Police Department)<\/p>\n

HOUSTON <\/strong> \u2013 Houston Police have Broadway Street shut down in both directions after a fatal hit and run on the city\u2019s southeast side Friday evening.<\/p>\n

It happened in the 2900 block of Broadway Street <\/p>\n

Eastside and VCD are working a fatal crash 2900 Broadway. Adult male pedestrian was struck by a black SUV that failed to stop. Broadway is closed in both directions. 202 pic.twitter.com\/1zAEQEd5Hf<\/a><\/p>\n

According to police, a man was fatally struck by a black SUV, which failed to stop.<\/p>\n

Lt. Larry Crowson says the victim was crossing the street in a crosswalk and the SUV, which was heading southbound, failed to yield to the pedestrian. The SUV fled south on Broadway after striking the man.<\/p>\n

Police are working to obtain surveillance video from nearby businesses as well as a few churches that were near the scene of the hit and run.<\/p>\n

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Houston Police Department.<\/p>\n
