Wacker Drive, follows a trend for the steak and seafood restaurant chain, which has been closing locations across the country. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrn.com\/top-500-restaurants\/here-are-the-restaurant-chains-that-lost-double-digit-sales-in-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">The company went from 21 locations<\/a> at the end of 2024 to 13 at the end of 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mccormickandschmicks.com\/store-locator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">according to its website and media reports.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The longtime Loop restaurant was the only Chicago location of McCormick &amp; Schmick\u2019s. A suburban Rosemont location remains open. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful to our dedicated team members and the loyal guests who have supported this location over the years. It has been an honor to serve the Chicago community, and we invite guests to continue enjoying exceptional dining experiences at our nearby sister restaurants, including Morton\u2019s The Steakhouse, The Palm, and Mastro\u2019s Steakhouse, where we are actively working to place impacted employees,\u201d said Shah Ghani, Chief Operating Officer for parent company Landry\u2019s Restaurant Group.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, McCormick &amp; Schmick\u2019s saw a 10 percent drop in sales while closing several of its locations. The chain once had 60 locations across the country, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrn.com\/top-500-restaurants\/here-are-the-restaurant-chains-that-lost-double-digit-sales-in-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">according to Nation\u2019s Restaurant News.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Landry\u2019s Restaurant Group, which owns over 500 restaurants, has been closing other brands under its umbrella, including Joe\u2019s Crab Shack, at times replacing them with other restaurants in its portfolio, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seafoodsource.com\/news\/foodservice-retail\/landry-s-group-continues-steady-closures-of-joe-s-crab-shack-mccormick-schmick-s-locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">according to SeafoodSource<\/a>, a seafood industry news site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocations, markets, and customer patterns naturally change,\u201d Chief Administration Officer Karim Tamir told SeafoodSource in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No plans have been announced to revive the Loop location with another Landry\u2019s restaurant. <\/p>\n<p>Morton\u2019s The Steakhouse, another well-known Landry\u2019s-owned restaurant at 65 E.
