<\/a><\/p>\nInvestigators say the violence began after the couple argued while sitting in a Taco Bell parking lot at State Road and West Chester Pike.<\/p>\n
“He got out of the vehicle, did the right thing, knew tempers were really flaring. Got out of the vehicle and walked away,” said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt.<\/p>\n
Police say Green then drove over a sidewalk and hit the man with her 2019 Hyundai Elantra before leaving the scene.<\/p>\n
She also hit a parked tow truck, which police say lessened the impact on her boyfriend.<\/p>\n
The victim suffered cuts on his hand and road rash on his back but was able to walk away.<\/p>\n
Twelve-year-old Musa Hussain said he heard the crash from inside his father’s car shop nearby.<\/p>\n
“I just hear a crash and I look outside and he’s on the floor, the car is destroyed from the front end,” Hussain said. “If we didn’t have this truck he would have been not alive.”<\/p>\n
Bernhardt said domestic violence incidents have been on the rise in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
“Unfortunately we’ve seen a lot of domestic violence incidents in the past month. It’s a tough time of year. I’ve said it before, I ask everyone to take a deep breath. Stay calm, walk away,” he said.<\/p>\n
Police say they have recovered Green’s car and are urging her to turn herself in. Pieces of the vehicle remain scattered in the parking lot where the crash occurred.<\/p>\n
“I just don’t want to go walking there because I always go to Taco Bell to get a drink and I don’t want to walk there anymore,” Hussain said.<\/p>\n
