On\u00a0January 2, Ukraine\u2019s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced<\/a> that First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of\u00a0Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has been proposed to\u00a0lead the Ministry of\u00a0Defense.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0have proposed Mykhailo Fedorov as\u00a0the new Minister of\u00a0Defense of\u00a0Ukraine. He\u00a0is\u00a0deeply involved in\u00a0the \u2018Drone Line\u2019 project and works effectively on\u00a0the digitalization of\u00a0state services and processes,\u201d Zelenskyy said in\u00a0an\u00a0evening address.<\/p>\n

The president emphasized that reforms in\u00a0the defense sector are needed to\u00a0ensure continued progress and effectiveness. <\/p>\n

He\u00a0also confirmed that current Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal will remain part of\u00a0the government, with a\u00a0new role offered in\u00a0another area of\u00a0state administration.<\/p>\n
