{"id":489939,"date":"2026-01-03T17:50:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T17:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/489939\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T17:50:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T17:50:09","slug":"suspect-arrested-for-allegedly-vandalizing-los-angeles-city-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/489939\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspect Arrested for Allegedly Vandalizing Los Angeles City Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man has been arrested for allegedly vandalizing City Hall on New Year\u2019s Day, police said Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department\u2019s Security Services Division responded at approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday to reports of extensive damage to both the interior and exterior of City Hall, according to an LAPD statement.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the suspect gained entry through the First Street entrance by breaking a locked glass door, \u201cand proceeded to the third floor, where multiple areas \u2014 including the hallway and rotunda \u2014 were vandalized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The suspect, identified as Jose Gonzalez Chavez, then left the facility and was taken into custody without incident, police added.<\/p>\n<p>Chavez was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding the alleged crime was urged to call LAPD Central Station detectives at 213-833-3750 or, during non-business hours or weekends, at 877-527-3247.
