{"id":490079,"date":"2026-01-03T19:17:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T19:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/490079\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T19:17:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T19:17:15","slug":"recreational-golf-major-changes-at-eagle-creek-golf-course-west-central-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/490079\/","title":{"rendered":"Recreational golf: Major changes at Eagle Creek Golf Course &#8211; West Central Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>      <a class=\"Link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.wctrib.com\/places\/willmar\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WILLMAR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>       \u2014 <\/p>\n<p>      <a class=\"Link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.wctrib.com\/places\/eagle-creek-golf-club\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eagle Creek Golf Club<\/a><\/p>\n<p>       owners announced in an email to course members recently that the current pro shop and team will move into The Oaks space.<\/p>\n<p>Even though The Oaks, <\/p>\n<p>      <a class=\"Link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.wctrib.com\/news\/local\/the-oaks-restaurant-and-bar-in-willmar-will-close-permanently-on-dec-7\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which ceased operations on Dec. 7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>      , will not offer a full menu due to high labor and food costs and limited traffic outside of Friday and Saturday nights, the bar will be open and staffed during pro shop hours. Light food options will be available for golfers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur aim is to create an inviting place for golfers to gather before and after their round or event, catch sports on TV and chat with the golf staff seven days a week during pro shop hours,\u201d owners Chad Pendill and Chris Sauer wrote. \u201cWe feel this accomplishes those goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is a move that Pendill and Sauer hope reflects their commitment to their \u201cgolf course first mentality and finding solutions that better serve our golfers,\u201d as they stated in the email.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did not want to lose a place where people could have their camaraderie,\u201d Eagle Creek Golf Club general manager Greg Snow said. \u201cWe plan on having pizza, sandwiches, hot dogs, brats \u2014 just very simplistic golf course menu items \u2014 but not the full restaurant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"Image\" alt=\"112025.n.wct.EagleCreekTheOaksSign.JPEG\"  width=\"840\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.forumcomm.com\/dims4\/default\/70563f7\/2147483647\/strip\/true\/crop\/2048x1536+0+0\/resize\/840x630!\/quality\/90\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum-communications-production-web.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com%2Fbrightspot%2F42%2F5e%2Fed6924dc462c9f735c04c89665b7%2F112025-n-wct-eaglecreektheoakssign.JPEG\" data-lazy-load=\"true\" bad-src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciIHZlcnNpb249IjEuMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSI2MzBweCIgd2lkdGg9Ijg0MHB4Ij48L3N2Zz4=\"\/><\/p>\n<p>        The Eagle Creek Golf Club and The Oaks at Eagle Creek sign is located at 1000 26th Ave. N.E., north of Willmar along Kandiyohi County Road 24. The Oaks&#8217; restaurant and bar will close permanently on Dec. 7, 2025, according to an Eagle Creek owners&#8217; email on Wednesday to its club members and The Oaks staff. The course owners are evaluating the transition of golf operations to the Willmar Junior Golf Foundation\u00a0building for the 2026 season, according to an email that the Eagle Creek owners sent to club members Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly Boldan \/ West Central Tribune<\/p>\n<p>Pendill and Sauer also noted major investment in equipment for the grounds-keeping crew with the purchases of a Dakota Rotary Top Dresser, Toro Aerifier, Toro Buffalo Blower, John Deere Fairway Mower, Workman HDX Utility Cart and Two Hauler Utility Carts.<\/p>\n<p>Golfers, who will also enjoy the addition of 44 new Yamaha rental carts with windshields and upgraded seats, will see changes on Holes 11 and 18 beginning in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>At the Hole 11 tee box, surrounding and overhanging trees have been removed. It will allow for sunlight and grass to grow by eliminating fallen acorns, branches and trees.<\/p>\n<p>On the right side of the Hole 18 fairway, many of the trees have been removed.
