Elderly man dies in southwest Houston house fire on Willow Lake Drive; HFD contained the blaze in about 20 minutes, and arson investigators are probing the cause. (OnScene, KPRC)<\/p>\n
HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 Firefighters responded to a house fire that claimed the life of an elderly man in southwest Houston on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n The Houston Fire Department were dispatched around 8 a.m. to the 2300 block of Willow Lake Drive. Arriving units said they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from a single-story home.<\/p>\n HFD said it took them around 20 minutes to get control of the fire. During their search, HFD District Chief Robert Ross said they found a deceased elderly man inside.<\/p>\n Arson units are working to determine the cause of the fire.<\/p>\n Around 8 a.m., HFD was dispatched to the 2300 block of Willow Lake Dr in southwest Houston. While searching inside the home, a patient was found and pulled out. Despite every effort, the man could not be saved.
