{"id":490646,"date":"2026-01-04T01:07:31","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T01:07:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/490646\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T01:07:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T01:07:31","slug":"1-dead-another-person-hospitalized-after-crash-following-police-chase-in-fort-worth-officials-say-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/490646\/","title":{"rendered":"1 dead, another person hospitalized after crash following police chase in Fort Worth, officials say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One person died and another is currently in critical condition after a police chase ended in a crash in Fort Worth early Saturday, police say. <\/p>\n<p>FORT WORTH, Texas \u2014 One person died and another person was hospitalized in critical condition after a police chase ended in a crash in Fort Worth early Saturday, officials say.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Officers were called about a vehicle driving the wrong way on Exchange Avenue in the Stockyards shortly before 3 a.m. Jan. 3 and tried to stop the vehicle, according to a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The people in the vehicle didn&#8217;t pull over and instead made a U-turn and fled the location, police say.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shortly thereafter, another officer found the suspect vehicle and tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver fled again, lost control and crashed into a utility pole in the 1500 block of E. 4th Street, officials say.<\/p>\n<p>The passenger was extricated from the vehicle but was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene despite officers&#8217; attempts to render aid, according to a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, officials say. Neither the passenger nor the driver have been identified.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The investigation into the crash remains active.<\/p>\n<p>This is a developing story.
