{"id":491640,"date":"2026-01-04T11:32:34","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T11:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/491640\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T11:32:34","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T11:32:34","slug":"harris-county-precinct-3-to-host-grand-opening-for-judge-ted-poe-community-center-in-atascocita","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/491640\/","title":{"rendered":"Harris County Precinct 3 to host grand opening for Judge Ted Poe Community Center in Atascocita"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOfficials with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pct3.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harris County Precinct 3<\/a> Commissioner Tom Ramsey&#8217;s Office will host a grand opening celebration Jan. 13 for a new community center in Atascocita.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to expect <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As previously <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/lake-houston-humble-kingwood\/development\/2025\/03\/24\/harris-county-precinct-3-to-open-25m-community-center-in-atascocita\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> by Community Impact, the $2.5 million, 8,500-square-foot facility is being renovated from an existing building in Atascocita Park, and will feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Classrooms and large community rooms<\/li>\n<li>A kitchen and a coffee bar<\/li>\n<li>A possible generator so the center can be used as a cooling\/warming center during extreme weather conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The center will be connected to Atascocita Park&#8217;s trail network, and may also be used as a supply distribution center in emergencies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s in a name<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Precinct 3 officials <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/lake-houston-humble-kingwood\/government\/2025\/10\/22\/harris-county-precinct-3-unveils-namesake-for-29m-community-center-in-atascocita\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> in October the community center would be named after Judge Ted Poe, who represented U.S. Congressional District 2 from 2005-19. Prior to that, Poe served as Harris County district judge from 1981-2003 and as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Check it out <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jeannie Peng, communications manager for Harris County Precinct 3, noted the center will be open to the pubic after the grand opening celebration.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opening Jan. 13<\/li>\n<li>17280 W.
