A 28-year veteran of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has been administratively reassigned as he faces a criminal charge for DUI in St. Johns County.<\/p>\n
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 After 28 years with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, an officer has been reassigned due to a criminal arrest in a neighboring county.<\/p>\n
Raymond Goethe was arrested by a St. Johns County deputy late Friday night after allegedly driving while under the influence, JSO announced.<\/p>\n
Goethe is currently a patrol officer with the agency.<\/p>\n
The deputy was driving northbound on U.S. 1 when he conducted the traffic stop on Goethe, JSO said. It was not immediately disclosed what prompted the stop. After a roadside interview, Goethe was arrested for DUI and taken to the St. Johns County jail.<\/p>\n
Goethe was not on duty at the time and was in his own vehicle, according to JSO. He has since been administratively reassigned to a different position as a criminal investigation is conducted.<\/p>\n
