{"id":493601,"date":"2026-01-05T07:44:37","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T07:44:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/493601\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T07:44:37","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T07:44:37","slug":"methodist-opens-its-first-ob-gyn-clinic-in-north-san-antonio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/493601\/","title":{"rendered":"Methodist opens its first OB-GYN clinic in North San Antonio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Methodist Healthcare opened its first obstetrics and gynecology clinic in mid November, as part of a broader push toward expanding access to women\u2019s health services in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>The new clinic is located at the Methodist Stone Oak hospital, which is undergoing a <a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonioreport.org\/methodist-104-million-stone-oak-hospital-expansion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$104 million upgrade<\/a>. Those changes are part of the hospital system\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/sanantonioreport.org\/methodist-healthcare-undergoes-greatest-expansion-in-its-history-ceo-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$450 million reinvestment<\/a> across three hospitals in South Texas as demand for services grows. Methodist Healthcare maintains the largest system in San Antonio with 11 hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>The clinic will offer the full spectrum of OB-GYN services, including preconception counseling, prenatal care, management of low- and high-risk pregnancies, labor, delivery and postpartum care, well-woman exams, pap tests, menopause care and advanced surgical procedures.<\/p>\n<p>The clinic opened with two physicians and plans to add a third in the new year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt speaks to our commitment to women\u2019s services across the Methodist Healthcare system,\u201d Methodist Hospital Stone Oak CEO Michael Beaver said. <\/p>\n<p>The Stone Oak hospital, in the growing northern outskirts of San Antonio, saw a record number of births in 2025. The hospital delivered around 2,700 babies, a 27% increase from 2024, Beaver said.<\/p>\n<p>In September, Perinatal Associates of San Antonio \u2014 a private clinic specializing in high-risk births \u2014 was integrated into the Methodist Healthcare system, still operating the same clinics in Stone Oak and the medical center, but with wider access to Methodist\u2019s network of providers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPerinatal associates of San Antonio has been a long-standing, really respected group of maternal fetal medicine specialists,\u201d said Rachel Goldsmith, CEO of Methodist Children\u2019s Hospital. \u201cThey\u2019re able to offer advanced imaging and genetic counseling and help to coordinate care for both mom and baby during that those complex pregnancies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And in October, the system\u2019s flagship hospital in the South Texas Medical Center underwent a $4.5 million renovation of its labor and delivery department. Over 16,000 square feet of space was enhanced for increased comfort, care and experience for patients and their loved ones.
