{"id":494292,"date":"2026-01-05T14:53:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T14:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/494292\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T14:53:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T14:53:12","slug":"l3harris-sells-60-stake-in-space-propulsion-business-for-845-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/494292\/","title":{"rendered":"L3Harris sells 60% stake in space propulsion business for $845 million"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">Jan 5 (Reuters) &#8211; L3Harris Technologies said on Monday it will sell an \u200babout 60% stake in its space \u200cpropulsion and power systems business to private equity \u200cfirm AE Industrial Partners for $845 million, including debt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">The deal furthers L3Harris&#8217; plan to shift its focus away from space and \u2060towards defense \u200ccapabilities amid an increasingly uncertain global geopolitical environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">The company will, however, \u200dcontinue to have sole ownership of the RS-25 rocket engine, which is currently used on \u200bNASA&#8217;s space launch system for the \u200cArtemis program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">The deal with AE Industrial, which was first reported by Reuters on Sunday, is expected to close in the second half of 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">AE Industrial said \u2060its partnership with L3Harris \u200bwould also accelerate the \u200bdevelopment of future propulsion technologies, including nuclear propulsion, which will be \u200dcritical to \u2060the exploration of Mars.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">Its previous space investments include Firefly Aerospace, RedWire Space \u2060and York Space Systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-7hmkaz\">(Reporting by Aishwarya Jain and \u200cMegavarshini G.
