Meet with a Southwest General Health Center pharmacist to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swgeneral.com\/events-calendar\/event-details\/?Event=32233\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.swgeneral.com\/events-calendar\/event-details\/?Event=32233\">review your medications<\/a> and have your questions answered on Thursday, Jan. 8 from 11 a.m. to noon at Southwest General\u2019s Old Oak Center, 7575 Old Oak Blvd., Middleburg Heights. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"LY5U2N37ABGXJOVJBIHOWSY6HA\">The event is free and open to the public; people who are not Southwest General patients can attend. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"MGG2EAY72FHYHA26TINRUDQEDQ\">The session will be repeated at the same time and place on Thursday, Feb. 12. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YLKAREEC5RD7TGN62AZJWK35ZM\"><b>Alcohol, health conditions can affect drug interactions<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"XN5EHQV47REGFEGL7ZCTRMWPXM\">If you take several different medicines, see more than one doctor, or have certain health conditions, you and your doctors need to be aware of all the medicines you take, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/resources-drugs\/drug-interactions-what-you-should-know\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/resources-drugs\/drug-interactions-what-you-should-know\">the Food and Drug Administration advises. <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2T5W2MNDTJFAHHCX2IOPQFRAEM\">Ask your pharmacist for the package insert for each prescription drug you take. The insert provides more information about potential drug interactions, the Food and Drug Administration said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YW2W3K256NGRNFSEHNE2JSFNVE\">There are three main types of drug interactions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"article__unordered-list\">\n<li id=\"HA7ZQ5U3UBBMHF6PNQZDBWZZ3E\">Drug-drug interactions happen when two or more drugs react with each other. This type of interaction may cause unexpected side effects.
