I love New York,\u201d the president added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to straighten out New York. It\u2019s going to \u2014 maybe we\u2019re going to have to straighten it out from Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump, who in his first term threatened to yank federal funds from the Big Apple for allegedly tolerating lawlessness, did not identify what authorities he might invoke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to do something for New York. I can\u2019t tell you what yet, but we\u2019re going to make New York great again. Also, we\u2019re going to make it great again with the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump added that \u201cI\u2019m not getting involved\u201d when asked if Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa should drop out of the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Andrew] Cuomo does have capability. He\u2019s running, but he got knocked out [of the Democratic primary]. You have Eric Adams, the current mayor, you have Cuomo, and you have Curtis Silwa? And Curtis runs every, every four years. He seems to be a fixture on the running scale,\u201d Trump said before calling Mamdani \u201cnot very capable, in my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a disaster \u2026 He\u2019s got the Democrat nomination because that shows you where the Democrats have gone.
