{"id":495747,"date":"2026-01-06T05:15:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T05:15:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/495747\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T05:15:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T05:15:19","slug":"jacksonville-sheriffs-office-releases-video-from-shooting-where-man-was-reportedly-threatening-mom-action-news-jax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/495747\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office releases video from shooting where man was reportedly threatening mom \u2013 Action News Jax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office has released video from an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/breaking-jacksonville-police-scene-officer-involved-shooting\/WOSQJYPTBFGYZOIMP3KE5KNIGI\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/breaking-jacksonville-police-scene-officer-involved-shooting\/WOSQJYPTBFGYZOIMP3KE5KNIGI\/\"><b>officer-involved shooting that happened in December<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">Police released a Critical Incident Briefing video on YouTube on Monday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\"><b>WARNING: Videos are graphic; viewer discretion advised<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">The incident happened in the early morning December 16 in Dinsmore on Bradd Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">It began around 9 a.m. the day before when Cory Sweeney\u2019s mother called police reporting her son was threatening her.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/live-breaking\/\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/live-breaking\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>&gt;&gt;&gt; STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE &lt;&lt;&lt;<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">Police say they tried to look inside the house Sweeney was in when he broke the glass.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">Offices tried to get Sweeney out of the home over the next four hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\"><b>[DOWNLOAD: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/mobile-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a><b>]<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">JSO said he eventually came outside with a large object and looked like he was going to throw it.
