{"id":495901,"date":"2026-01-06T06:43:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T06:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/495901\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T06:43:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T06:43:09","slug":"harris-county-k-9-found-unconscious-after-suspect-allegedly-tries-to-drown-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/495901\/","title":{"rendered":"Harris County K-9 found unconscious after suspect allegedly tries to drown him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 A Harris County K-9 is recovering after an encounter with a suspect during a chase, according to the Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office says deputies were in the 14200 block of Lockwood Drive, attempting to locate Bryan Crofton, 21, for active felony warrants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Crofton crashed his vehicle into a ditch after he was spotted and fled towards a pond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Harris County K-9 Ghost, along with K-9 Handler, Deputy Almeida, pursued Crofton towards the wooded pond area. <\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Gonzalez said when K-9 Ghost bit the suspect, Crofton allegedly tried to drown the K-9. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HCSOTexas?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@HCSOTexas<\/a> deputies were in the 14200 block of Lockwood Drive, attempting to locate Bryan Crofton (1-14-04) for active felony warrants. <\/p>\n<p>Crofton was spotted, he crashed his vehicle in a ditch, and fled on foot towards a pond. K-9 Ghost was found unconscious, but shortly afterwards regained consciousness and was treated at the scene before being transported to a veterinary clinic as a precaution. K-9 Ghost is expected to be ok.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\"\/><\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Crofton was taken to a hospital for the bite he received. He had open warrants for injury to a child as well as interfering with 911 services. New charges of evading arrest and interfering with a service animal will be added against him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cOur K-9s serve alongside deputies every day, helping keep our neighborhoods safe.
